Begin by holding a cone steadily under the ice cream dispenser, keeping your hand on the lever until the ice cream fills to the brim and the cone is filled completely. Next, move your hand clockwise. The size of the swirl is most important. When you see that the ice cream is leaving the border of the cone, start to swirl the cone around. Every time, swirl a little bit less and make the swirl a little bit smaller. When it gets to the top, pull up the lever and push the cone up and then pull it away to make that perfect swoosh. The trick is not to go for the swirl; rather to push the cone towards the nozzle to get the soft serve effect. Practice makes perfect!
